Asparagus

Many medicines present in modern society were sourced from the natural world: local anesthetic (coca plant), aspirin (willow bark), antibiotics (Penicillium), laxatives (cassia species), choleretics (artichoke), morphine + codeine + oxycodone (poppy plant), caffeine (coffee + cacao), and even chemotherapy treatments (Pacific yew tree).

The question immediately arises, then: how much of Mother Nature’s intelligence is still untapped? How many breakthrough healing treatments from plants have we not discovered yet?

Asparagus is one of these unknown miracle foods; the ultimate fountain of youth — an anti-aging wonder.

From Medical Medium®:

“Asparagus contains phytochemical compounds such as chlorophyll and lutein that act as critical organ cleansers. They get deep into organs such as the liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys, scrubbing out the toxins they find there, including many heavy metals.

What’s more, some of the phytochemicals found in asparagus are toxin inhibitors (a fact as yet unknown to science). This means that once toxins such as DDT, other pesticides, and heavy metals have been driven out of the organs, these specialized phytochemicals stay behind and repel new toxins from taking up residence there.

This makes asparagus an amazing tool for battling virtually every variety of cancer.

On top of all of this, asparagus is very high in absorbable B vitamins (helpful for stress), silica, iron, zinc, molybdenum, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium and selenium, making it one of the most adrenal-supporting foods in existence.”

Try adding some chopped-up, raw (or steamed) asparagus to your salads. The thicker the asparagus, the better!

Is the United States doomed?

Make no mistake: one day (probably sooner than we expect) the United States will be reduced to memory.

Indeed, at some point — whether it’s tomorrow or in a trillion years — every country on Earth will be dismantled, humanity will go extinct, and our Sun will implode.

Dissolution is in the nature of all phenomenal things.

No need to be pessimistic, though. Fruit decays in your belly to fuel your next step. Outdated, toxic buildings are torn down to make room for modern, eco-friendly ones. Mom & Pop shops die to become the abundance of Sears & Walmart which die to become the convenience of Amazon & Shopify.

This is the creative and evolutionary process in action. Life and death; death and life. Over and over and over until we get it right.

We find ourselves in a unstable transition point in today’s geopolitical landscape, moving from centralized to decentralized networks.

But again, seen from a cosmic perspective, this has the potential to be very good. The United States had to overthrow the English monarch to gain its freedom, right? The European Union could not exist if the Holy Roman Empire was still standing, no? Israel would not have a chance of being sovereign if the emperors of Babylon still ruled the lands, correct?

Rather than focusing your energy so heavily on maintaining or worrying about structures that are ready to topple, apply your effort towards preparing for and creating the new.

Now is the best time to invest in your community by building gardens, gathering for potlucks, and sharing wisdom. Now is the best time to forge lasting bonds with your neighbors and family. Now is the best time to heal your wounds and liberate your mind.

“The superior man is not seeking fulfillment through work and woman, because he is already full. For him, work and intimacy are opportunities to vanish in the bliss of giving.” — David Deida

In the world of duality, art needs a container to express in — paintings need a canvas, dances need a stage, and songs need an instrument.

Without art, a container is empty and without purpose. Without a container, art has no context and is thus rendered meaningless.

In the realm of spirituality, man (yang/the masculine pole) is the container, and woman (yin/the feminine pole) is the art.

That is, the “masculine” represents the boundless consciousness upon which the “feminine” infinite energy plays and explores.

Now, of course, both the masculine and feminine polarity exist within you.

For instance, there’s the part of you that thrives under structure and discipline (masculine energy): adhering to deadlines, checking of to-do list items, setting and achieving goals.

And there’s a part of you that needs the untethered freedom to express yourself (feminine energy): intuitive dance and movement, artistic liberty, unblocked time for pure rest.

In this quote, David speaks to the bliss of the masculine polarity — the bliss that comes from giving “his” undivided attention to the presently unfolding energy.

Happy Father’s day to all of the incredible dads out there who show up day after day to tend to their families with a full heart and endless care.
